Day 10 Rome - Florence - 14/10
 
We drove through Tuscany to Florence - center of the arts, jewel of the Renaissance, and city of grace and refinement. Under the patronage of the famous Medici family in the 14th and 15th centuries, Florence became the liveliest and most creative city in Europe and today's we can see some of the world's greatest works of art and most magnificent building. Cathedral dating from 1296, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery and Signoria Square. We also gain a panoramic view of the city from Piazza Michelangelo. Then shopping........for leather.
 
Day 11 Florence - Lucerne - 15/10
Our route lies north through the mountains towards Bologna and across the plains of Lombardy to Milan. We climbed into the foothills of the great Alps admiring views over the Italian Lakes. Then entering Switzerland and driving ever upwards amidst the spectacular snow-capped peaks to reach the St. Gotthard Tunnel. Then descended through the valleys of the Swiss countryside to beautiful Lake Lucerne. This time we stayed at a beautiful hotel overseeing the snow-capped peaks. In the evening we joined in the fun of the lively folklore show with typical Swiss entertainment of yodeling, flagthrowing, alpine horn blowing and fine musicians.
 
Day 12 - Lucerne - 16/10
 
So much to see in this beautiful Lucerne, The famous Lion Monument, the memorable bridge and the colorful streets of the medieval Old Town.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed an unforgettable trip along the lake to nearby mountain slopes - Mount Pilatus, and ascend by cog-wheel railway and cable car to spectacular alpine views.
